Unfortunately, many Craigslist posts are still written like that's all they're allowed.

"car for sale runs $3000"

Ok....what kind of car, what color, where are the pictures, where are you located, what year is it.......anything?

Or apartments or houses for rent, but they don't show pictures, and they don't even tell you where it is.

Some aren't written as though they had only 2 lines available - they're written as though they are being charged by the byte.

Yep. I hate that.

However, I bought that $500 AC for $100 in a similar type of ad. It had more information like, "Bought this portable AC unit for $500 from Costco." And then told me they were selling it for $100. That's about all they had.

But, I got a real good deal. The gal even gave me her phone number and said that if there was any problems with it to call her and she'd give me a full refund. ;) (If ya know what I mean)

Meaning you'll never dial that number?

Yeah, unfortunately. The damn thing works pretty well. Admittedly, it's not that good at its job. I don't have a large room, but it can't keep it 72F for very long while being off. It might just be that I have a poorly insulated place or that the things in my place get it hot very easily (It's a studio with a very shitty refrigerator inside. That thing is on a lot because it leaks cold air). Who knows.

Ugh, I have a TV to sell and I'm dreading listing it on Craiglist just because I don't want to have to deal with idiots. I've been pretty lucky selling furniture in the past, but electronics seem to bring out the worst people.

Pretty true.

I can't sell a computer on there. People always tried to trade me their fucking Xbox with various games for it. Fucking 12 year olds

So...CL is bad because other humans are bad. What exactly do you want CL to do about it? Act as a mediator between you and buyers/sellers to make sure that your process goes smoothly? And you want this for free?

If you would have bother to fully read my rant you might have noticed that I am a BUYER. I have never sold an item on CL. In answer to your question: Yes, I would like Cl to do all of these things ... including it being free. Why? Because I am the buyer. If a fee is required the seller should be required to pay this.

The primary reason that CL is in decline (IMHO) is because it is free. There are no financial barriers (or barriers of ANY kind) for abuse of the "system". You get wha tyou pay for ...

Where's the facepalm icon when you need it? Buyer/seller doesn't matter to the discussioin. You're complaining about a free service which is ridiculous enough. Go to ebay if you want some nanny to hold your wittle hands for you while you interact with other human beings. Note: buyer protection isn't free, it's wrapped into the price of the service.

if you can't afford it, you can't afford it no matter what media is hosting it.

That has nothing whatsoever with to do the AC, would a better unit cool when it was in the "off" position..

craiglist is so eaaaaaaaaaaaasy.. just txt them wait for reply and you can tell instantly what type of person it is with the brains they use in the txt. discounted price or Amazing quality/condition of items. Depending location and time of day etc the glock 33 with laser grip is in reach but never even close to needed it if they wanted to rip you off they would not sell the items i buy i think.. not sure..

car battery brand new 25$ duralast dual post
tires perreli 18" 20$ each

1 spare 20" rim match my set 20$
portable ac 75$ <-- maybe just half off?
Jtag xbox 360 80$ um wow desperate person hehehe
jtag xbox 360 slim 113$ <--didnt have change so i gave him 120

Craigslist needs to be renamed resellerslist.

Nothing but the same posters spamming 20 times a day trying to sell their SUPER RARE HARD TO FIND stuff like a NES for $200+

If anyone posts a personal sale for a reasonable price its gone in 2 seconds, snatched up by same resellers. Worst of all they have the nerve to go by eBay prices without regard for eBay PayPal and shipping fees.

Dude, you are doing a horrible job turning my words against me. I am a buyer ... not a seller. As a buyer I stated that IMHO CL had declined over the years. I stand by my statement 100%. My opinion is evidenced by the fact that I have not made a purchase from a CL ad since 2008. The debate is now over ... I will no longer be pulled into your pointless debate any longer. You are wasting your time.

This is pretty much true, and applies to text or email. After using CL for a while, you can tell almost instantly if it's someone you want to deal with or not.
And like I tell everyone who uses CL, if they EVER use the word "kindly", it's a scam. :)

lol, your thought process is just retarded. you seem to think that being a buyer of CL items somehow makes you a different customer than being a seller. Why would you think that? There's absolutely no reason to consider it that way.

"I have six (6) sections. Priced at $25 per section, must take all - $125.00."
Craigslist math fail.

Bro, you aren't the sharpest tool in the shed but they are saying they are giving a deal to someone on CL to just take it off their hands (usually in cash instead of on auction sites where they'd have to report it).

arithmetic < calculus.
