Depends on the items... small or mobile at a public place. Otherwise I go to them if I'm buying but I bring someone with me.

meet somewhere halfway. unless it's large and one or the other party doesn't have a truck....then whoever has the truck delivers/picks up. If neither have a truck, the onus is on the buyer to come and get it.

I always try to meet in a neutral location. I dont want the person knowing where I live.

This.

I did have one person come to my office building to see a computer in a conference room, but not on my floor. ;)

I do not sell anything that would require someone coming to my house.

I've always just meet at a neutral place convenient to me. 7-11, a Carl's Jr./Burger King. Yesterday I just sold my Zune to someone at Union Station which was a 5 minute train ride.

Never meet at my place. Occasionally meet at their place (furniture).

95% of the time, I meet at a CVS location.

99% of the time i request they meet me @ my place.

Generally we get everything nailed down via email then phone before meeting, & really, i've not had any real issues with people, other than sometimes them being too stupid to be buying my stuff.

All the time i've done local transactions i've lived in apartments, so i just go down to the lobby to meet them anyway.

If i didn't, then i might look at doing it in a more neutral spot.

I just bought a used baby crib and a jumperoo and I went to the seller. They were local.

I often wondered how you got power supplies to test on your web page. Now I know. At gun point...:)

Meeting at your place can be dangerous, especially if they are the stalker variety. I've had a guy call me 50 times wanting to meet back up for a refund, he didn't want it anymore. I blocked his number and his email, and forgot about him. All sales final, buddy.

If he knew where I lived, I'm sure he would have shown up one day.

I can definitely see the issue with meeting people @ your place, but i don't sell to people if the item doesn't work for their needs.
I recently actually basically told one guy it wouldn't work for him as he didn't really know what he was looking for once i'd met him.

Obviously, if you get a crazy person i can see it being somewhat of an issue, but as i don't give people my apartment number, it doesn't bother me too much.

They don't know where i actually live (just that i'm one of many occupants in the apartments).

And @ my current place, you cannot even get up the elevator or stairs without a key.

As i mentioned though, with a house, this would be a VERY different story.
If i was in a house, then neutral locations would be something i'd have to do.

I've had some mom selling me her baby item give me their home address and I went there... that wasn't too smart of them. Her husband was home though, but still. I would always go to them if I'm the buyer, but I would expect a public place like Target or a mall entrance.

I've met at a parking lot of a major shopping area (grocery store, Target, etc.).
