This is totally shocking. Everyone knows that CL is the safest place to buy/sell your spare Rolex's.

I will buy it off you for $25,000.

Oh shit, you know what I just mailed you your check but I accidentally wrote it out for $28,000 (I was so excited to purchase the watch that I wasn't paying enough attention). Here's the problem though, my friend just got in a car accident and he need his car fixed ASAP. That $3,000 extra I just wrote on your check... can you make it to the nearest western union and send it back to me? He won't be able to make it into work without his car fixed (Honda transmission going out! He got it for the reliability... sigh) and he has a newborn and is already on a pretty rocky relationship with his boss.

Please let me know when you make it into western union and when you ship the Rolex.

Thanks.

I guess he will lose his job and have you to thank. I am keeping the 3k extra, learn to pay attention next time , dumb ass.

Seems like a lot for CraigsList. Did you consider consignment at a jewelry/watch store?

I wont use a dealer and lower the amount I would get. I have it for sale or trade for another watch. I am not desperate to sell it. I had an offer for $2500 on Cl that I turned down.

I sold a $4,000 motorcycle on craigslist last summer with no trouble at all.

The first bike I sold on CL, I was dumb enough to put a phone number on the ad. It was a burn phone, so I didn't care much. Weeks after selling the bike (after the ad was taken down), I got an assload of voicemails asking me if I still had the bike for sale. Google tells me that these people are a company who want to sell the bike for me.

No more phone numbers (in the ad) after that.

While trying to sell the bike I got all kinds of stupid offers: Can you sell me just the exhaust? Can you sell me just the windscreen? You're in LA and I'm in San Diego (2 hours), can you drive the bike down to me?

That's CL.

I think he typoed and meant to say he's a deaf caveman. ME DEAF CAVEMAN LIVE ALABAMA!

Here's my Craigslist funny - I was selling a HP netbook for $200 with another $50 of accessories with it. I really love that this guy led off with a totally crack addict sounding "Come on, man!"

I wish I could force him to send me money on PayPal via a gift, then after a long enough time I MIGHT send him the watch.

I always think it's funny how people post "no scammers/spammers"

like that is going to discourage them...
