Had a similar thing happen with a couch.. Had to get our last move done in a day.. After everything else was out of the house, there was one couch left that was heavy as hell and neither of us liked very much.
Couch was in decent shape, had the recliners in it etc.. I took a $20 bill and taped it to the cushion and took a picture. Posted on CL that I just got done moving all day, and I will PAY someone 20 bucks to come take this free couch on the condition that I didnt have to move it..
I had 2 different people show up in cars too small to get the couch... One was a mini-van, the other was one of those half-assed honda crossover SUV. Why is it people who buy these things think they are actually made to haul anything but groceries? Its a friggen FULL SIZED COUCH.
Then I had one guy show up by himself expecting that I would help him load it despite clearly positing in the ad why I was paying in the first place..
I ended up helping him carry the couch out and keeping the $20 ( which he actually tried to protest)..
