Craigs List

Today I scored a complete Craftsman Rotary Tool set, with over 50 bits for sanding, cutting, polishing, etc. The extension hose, the tool case, extra sanding and cutting disks and a pair of safety goggles all for a grand total of $30, and that was tipping the guy and extra $10 to drop it off at my house. 🙂

I feel like this is a pretty good deal, the thing looks to be in near mint condition, along with all the bits and things.

Would you like to share your stories of any great finds on Craigs List?

probably hotter than a fire cracker 😀. Good deal either way.

Bought my current car 4 years ago:

94 Honda civic ex
165,000 now with 190,000 miles
great condition
A few minor repairs have been needed, brake pads, etc.

$1100

I'm addicted to Craigslist.
I look in it everyday.

The latest I got was a flawless mint Zune w/ case for $150.
Oh, there were over 4400 mp3s still in it.
Still looking through it to erase the ones I don't have original copies of 😉

Also got a ASTC(HDTV) stand alone tuner and antenna for $70.

oh just don't mistype and put craiglist.com apparently some friends have gotten to that page and were shocked to find porn.

I have the same addiction, too! Just picked up two low wattage Athlon dual core am2 cpu's for $75 each. Plus a Dell C610 and C640 for $270 fully loaded...

i think its free isn't it? otherwise i don't think people would be posting some of the stuff they do if they had to pay for it.

WIYF

As of 2006, Craigslist operates with a staff of 22 people. [1] Its sole source of revenue is paid job ads in select cities ($75 per ad for the San Francisco Bay Area; $25 per ad for New York; Los Angeles; San Diego; Boston; Seattle; Washington D.C., and paid broker apartment listings in New York City ($10 per ad)).

ah, thanks for the info.

hehe, that's a funny line in there:

In December 2006, Craigslist CEO Jim Buckmaster appeared at the UBS Global Media Conference in New York and perplexed wall street analysts by telling them Craigslist has little interest in maximizing profit from the website but instead prefers only to help users find cars, apartments, jobs and dates.

Didn't eBay buy CraigsList or something? For how long will it remain mostly free?

BTW, when I'm bored, I amuse myself by reading the furniture classifieds. People want so much for their junk.

Although the company does not disclose financial information, journalists have speculated that its annual revenue approached $10 million in 2004.

I imagined that revenue is $50++millions in 2006.

If this guy Craig wanted to, he can easily become instant millionaire x10.
The site has such a folowwing now that someone would pay huge amount for it.
If Youtube can get $1.65 billions out of it.

Just doin some googling on the net and I read this:

Craig has turned down many acquisition offers for Craigslist that would by any measure make him a very rich man. Craigslist?s CEO Jim Buckmaster has stated that Craigslist could probably make 10 times the revenue it makes today if they tried. So what is Craigslist worth? Assuming they could make $200M in revenue at a 40% net margin, and applying an Ebay-type EBITDA multiple, that would place the value of the company at ~$2.4B. I have no doubt that if Craigslist were to sell, it could command more than a $1B purchase price as is today, and probably significantly more (Note: Craig is a better man than I!)

$2.4 billions ????

God damm, Craig is a better man than most of us.
Man, I would have sold out long ago and be filthy rich.
