I'm normally a very joking type of person but during work, I can't seem to get myself to slide in a few jokes when we're talking about work. But as soon as we head out for lunch, I'm completely different. It's weird. For some reason, I have this urge to hold back during work (I guess just after years of school that teach you it's bad) and/or I don't joke with my parents all that much.

What about you guys? Let's hear stories of jokes/pranks at work that have been good and bad!

Sneaked a big sheet of bubblewrap behind the chair of my older co-worker then a few minutes later told him "Cmon, its lunch time"

As he backed up his chair, there was a staccato of bubble pops and he jumped up and flailed his hands in the air in panic.

Was pretty cool.

when i worked at lego in order to get salt on the pretzels we used this liquid butter concoction. we also kept a couple spray bottles for cleaning windows, sanitizer and another for just disinfecting and wiping stuff down which was also yellow. i once poured the liquid butter stuff into that spray bottle and when my co-worker sprayed some on the counter/windows to wipe it down he ended up just smearing a bunch of butter everywhere with the rag. i found it hilarious but my supervisor didnt. we switched to water shortly thereafter.

That's childish. You just caused your coworker to work harder for a lame joke!

the co-worker was a friend who would hang out with me after work and we'd go have a drink. i wouldnt do it to just some random co-worker. for all i know they'd have to catch a bus to/from work and my prank could cost them an extra 5-10 minutes of clean-up and cause them to miss it.
