Cracked LCD strangeness?

As some of you may remember, I broke my laptop screen.

Still waiting for the new laptop..

Anyway.. When I first broke it, there was a quarter-sized black splotch of dead pixels around the crack. However, in the following days.. the black splotched changed, and got smaller and smaller as pixels came back on. Now there is no black splotch, just a crack in my screen.

Is that normal? :Q

Is there any way to keep the LCD from continuing to crack? The crack has grown by about 2" since it happened, just from normal movement. The crack is only noticeable up where it originally happened, except when the LCD is flexed.

Will half the LCD quit working when the crack reaches the bottom?

pic of crack

Wish I had a pic from when it had the big black splotch, lol

i don't know how much it's going to wear you out but if you have some unused tv then hook it up!

my brother's laptop screen is pretty much borked but he hooks it up with his 32" lcd tv.

Just grab the other edge of the screen w/ your thumb and index finger, problem solved Eli! 😛

Your LCD has already healed the dead pixels, it should continue to fill in the crack once it is ready. Make sure it's got enough power to repair itself by not running any memory or cpu-intensive precesses.

It regenerated using an advanced cloning process. That's normal.
