that's a good one. i usually fool my roommates by printing their desktop, set as a wallpaper then disable icons and hide taskbar.

that's pretty good!

once he saw the "VGA signal input" thingy on the monitor OSD, he should have figured it out, but this would definitely work on a regular joe shmoe user!

that is what I thought....but when you freak out, you generally don't think like that especially if you do not know much about monitors/computers.

Or even before that, no lights on keyboard/red light on optical mouse with this simple method for the prank.

Thats assuming he has an optical mouse, although your right about the keyboard unless he has a really generic one - or if he has all of the stuff turned off (Num lock, etc) and then he wouldn't really notice that
