Cracked/chipped processor cores.

I recieved a chipped core and it posts, but I am wondering if there are any stability issues invovled? Does anyone know?
 
Try running prime95 and running the torture test.. it should go all day/night without a problem. if it says theres an error, somethings wrong.. if that happens lemme know 😀

How badly is it chopped? I chipped my tbird 1200C a while back while trying to get my friggin volcano II off it without breaking the socket clip (which i ultimately failed at. feh) .. Does it look any worse than this .. mine runs fine..

basically as long as it boots and works i wouldnt worry about it.. even if prime95 does give you errors you probably wont notice any problems..

Are you saying that the CPU arrived chipped or you chipped it when trying to mount the HSF? If it arrived chipped (which is very unlikely) I would send it back your your supplier for RMA, though you may have problems trying to prove that it arrived chipped.
 
thanks guy for you help I installling 2000 on it. it does seem a bit slow. I will run some benchmarks with Sandra and try a burnin test. Does prime run on 2000? I haven;.tl dled it. Thanks again for the suggestions/experiences, anymore would be justa s helpful
