My girlfriend and I want to make some crab dishes tomorrow night for the season finale of Deadliest Catch. Do you guys have any good recipes for us to try? Thanks in advance.

Simple & Delish Crab Salad Sandwiches

Shredded crab meat (real or imitation)
Mayonnaise
Chopped green onions
Salt
Pepper

Add appropriate amount of mayonnaise to shredded crab meat until mixture is almost creamy (if you prefer creamier than add more mayo). Add green onions, salt, and pepper to taste. Chill mixture. Serve on bread.

:)

I like to barbeque mine. Break it up first into legs and the joint where all the legs come together, slather them with butter and throw them on the grill.

There are only a few of us here who are qualified to give recipes for crabs.

I make mine with lump crab meat, mayo, pepper, and old bay crab cake mix ($2.99) at the store. Mix it all up, make some balls, and cook them on a heated pan coated with olive oil. The secret is the length of time you leave them on the pan.

You STEAM crab legs, not boil them... At least for the precooked ones you get at the supermaket. Unless you are doing a live one of course.

We just had crab a couple days ago. Had some Monster king crab legs from Sams or something... Steam them for about 15 minutes, melt the butter and pout it into a Butter Warmer: http://www.amazon.com/diMani-B...rmer-Set/dp/B0000VLLZ2

If you don't know what that is, you aren't a true Crab eater either...

THen crack them open, dip it in the hot butter, and eat. Mmmmm.

I like how the "true crab eaters" and the ones who "know what they're doing" suggest getting precooked stuff and crab cake mix.

For live Maryland blue crabs:

For each dozen crabs, take water and vinegar
2 1/2 tablespoons OLD BAY SEASONING (or a lot more)
3 tablespoons salt

Pot should have raised rack, minimum 2" high. Add equal quantities water and vinegar to just below level of rack. Layer crabs; sprinkle each layer with mixture of OLD BAY SEASONING and salt. Cover and steam until crabs are red.

Well, for people in WI and other surrounding places, you can't get live stuff anywhere so precooked legs are all we can have. heh heh
