CPUIdle doesn't work with Celeron2 850?

Hi All:

I just upgraded from a Celeron 366@550 to a Celeron2 566@850. I had been using CPUIdle before with no problems, but on the Celeron 2, when it issues the HLT command, the screen goes black and the computer freezes. Do these CPUIdle programs not work with the Coppermine core? Is anyone else using CPUIdle with a Celeron 2?

I'd really like to run this program, as I'm running this baby at 1.8Volts and would like the extra cooling.

-thanks

why not try the good old fashion rain program?
same thing as cpuidle but w/o all the bells and whistles...
email me if u need it

I'm using Win 98. I think I am using version 5.6.

I have tried RAIN an Soft Cooler and they do the exact same thing. It is puzzling because it worked fine on my 550!

In case anyone else has this problem, it was the slocket. I was using an I-Will slocket 2. POS. I switched back to an old Tekram slocket (that doesn't support FCPGA), but it works great. I can even up the speed to 877.

Is there any harm in runnning a FCPGA celeron on a non-FCPGA slocket?

try www.hmonitor.com & download their hmonitor pro & see if this version of a cpu cooler works, it also monitors your voltage as well as cool your cpu at the same time, & this software is more recent than cpuidle 5.6, which i use to use myself before it started giving me programs on rogue spear urban ops.
