CPU-Z gone ghey on me. WHy... I got Conroe E6600 + ASUS P5B shows Wrong clock

Mine is a Core2Duo Conroe E6600 chip with ASUS P5B Deluxe board.

I use ClockGen to overclock my machine..

CPU-Z (tried both 1.56 and 1.53) shows wrong multiplier... it shows 6 instead of 9, so it displays much less clock than what should be. With some oc windows shows me 2.7 ghz, but in CPU-z it shows 2.3 ghz or something like that. What the hell is going on...

I ran superPi to verify if my speed is getting the right performance and indeed what it shows in ClockGen is accurate, not the CPU-Z.

what am i doing wrong? do I have the wrong version of the CPU-Z?
