I don't know about your specific productivity tasks, but for gaming @60Hz I think Ryzen is a no-brainer. Get the 1700, it seems like that's what you want anyway, and buying what you want increases your chances of being happy with your purchase. Merry christmas

So???? 8400 cant game at 60 hz as well? I wont argue againt a Ryzen chip for productivity, but there is zero reason to choose it over the 8400 for gaming, and it is just absurd to call it a "no brainer".

Yes, seriously!!!!!!! A Ryzen cpu will do gaming at 60Hz just as well as an intel cpu and do it while being better in other ways due to SMT, while being cheaper at the same time. For me that's a no brainer. If you want to disagree that's fine, but at least try to construct a more coherent argument than "seriously?!??!?!?!? but this other thing got an award in an online publication!!!!!!" and perhaps you won't come across as such a rabid fanboy in the future.




Use of the word(s) rabid fanboy, is just not allowed in tech.
Find another word to use that will get your point across.
