CPU vs (Memory & HDD) speed

Hi there,

I've been looking around trying to find a good spec laptop to buy. But as expected, I'm having a hard time to find the all-in-one (cost included) package. So here is my question:

Which one is better/faster:

- AMD64 3700+, 1GB DDR333, 80GB 4200rpm, or
- AMD64 3400+, 1GB DDR400, 80GB 5400rpm

It's intended for general use plus some number crunching...

Any views are greatly appreciated...

I know, but ...it's a laptop...I could also have a 60GB 7200rpm in the second machine (AMD64 3400+)...would that be so much better to be worth giving away 20GB of space???
