CPU Voltage & Heat Issues ............... ??

I have an AMD classic/slot 650 (no overclock) & been having what seems to be an overheating?/"Freeze" problem . The voltage is/was set at 1.6 which to the touch , the cpu felt a bit hot .

Also I'm updated on MB Bios & Drivers & have a decent slotA HSF .

So my question is: How much can you drop the voltage to the cpu and would it make a difference in how hot the cpu will get ?

I Have it set right now at 1.45 & it seems to be running cooler , I don't know .

I've checked the Temp. in the Bios & it ranges from 38-43C

Note: It is not the Videocard , for it does the same "FREEZE" with the Diamond Viperv550 pci , ATI AIW 128 agp & STB Velocity 4400 agp . (all with the latest drivers)

Anyone have any ideas ?
