I noticed that my new motherboard (Gigabyte X79-ud3) does not have any widget or other type of display for the temp without going inside the app to check it.

I like seeing it on my desktop, and my old motherboard has a widget for it. Is there a 3rd party app by chance that can interface with the system to display this info?

This is from my Vista install. Try using this with Speedfan(I think I got the right one. I'm not in Vista atm)...

Edit:
I may have messed with the default settings. There were a couple I changed the background, and text on. I don't remember if this was one of them. I don't know where you get gadgets anymore, but if you can't deal with this, you can Google the name, and you may find it.

RealTemp displays the temp of Core #0 in the tray... if that's what you are talking about.
