Cpu Usage % in Task Manager - e6400

I think something might be awry here. Got my e6400 at stock speed, on idle... and in task manager it says my cpu usage is anywhere from 30 - 40%. Does that sound odd?

Have about 40 processes running. Win XP Pro.
 
Sounds like the PATA driver issue i had when using my PATA DVD burner.

If you have an IDE HDD, then it would be a constant issue.

There's a link to a beta driver in that thread, but i'd check the Asus site to make sure first, since i'm not sure that the IDE controller drivers are the same for the P5D-E & the P5B-D.

If you've installed that program i linked to, you'll see Hardware Interrupts is causing around 30-35% CPU usage, yes, or no?

Running a SATA dvd drive and HDD, with a back-up HDD sitting on the IDE cable.
