CPU usage always very high

Hi People,

Of late my CPU usage is always very high, more than 80%. This happens even when no program is running (not even in the background). I checked for spywares, scanned the entire system, deleted unwanted stuff from add/remove section and even defragmented few times but the CPU usage is still very high. This is happening since the past 4-5 days. I never had this problem and my CPU usage was always at 1 or 2% when idle. And now even when it's idle (doing nothing) the CPU usage is constantly high (sometimes above 80% for hours together). When ever i execute any programs, games etc then run slow and at times it gets very slow. Frame rates in the games have also dropped considerably.
Please help people. Any help would be gladly appreciated. Please..........

download this, should tell you what process / interrupt is the culprit... Report back.

Thanks mate. I just downloaded the software and it shows various programs which take away the speed. I guess i'll have to read the help file first to understand everything before i do something. Thanks once again.

u can try "hijack this" too. Search for it. You run it and it saves all your processes in a log file then u go here http://www.hijackthis.de/en and upload that log file then it tells you info and suggestion about each one.

Have you looked in task manager to see what is using all the cpu? I think I'd start there rather than download more apps that you may not need, or don't know anything about.
