I've done some new com builds w/full install and some motherboard/cpu upgrades, & replace. Had to run the whole xp setup or fix. call ms get new number all that crap

Do I have to go though all that for cpu Upgrade (athlon 64 3500 to 64 4000)? since theres no need For That many new drivers like the mobo would .

You should be able to just upgrade it without any problems. You 'might' get asked to activate your key again. This shouldnt' be a problem, and if it doesnt' activate right away, just call and they will give you the code to get it going.

If anything is screwed up driver wise just do the Xp repair install(no need to reinstall) and things should be restored without any problems.

I upgraded from a 3000+ to a 3800+ dual-core and it just involved one extra reboot. Go for it 🙂 Welcome to the Forums.
