I was upgrading my mom's 775 Celeron to a 775 Pentium Dual core. When I powered it on, BAM. No display, no post, nothing. All of the fans were spinning and I checked the connections from power supply to motherboard, to graphics card, to cpu, etc. During the upgrade process, it was pretty rough getting the mobo into/out of the case (it bent a bit). Could that have been a problem? What are some other possible problems?

which chip was in there and which chip did you put in?

Some boards didn't support later chips either at all or at least without a bios update

Take out the new chip, put the old one back, and make sure everything boots up.

If it does (and probably even if it doesn't) check the documentation on the motherboard to see whether it will even accept the new chip, and whether a BIOS update is needed.
