CPU troubles

ok so i have a cele 1.7GHz 533mhZ cpu, i believe, that when put into my motherbord seems to work for post and initial installation of windows. after the computer restarts to finish installation of windows, eg after the blue screen setup, the computer freezes at the windows boot up screen. I swap out that cele with a p4 also at 533MHz fbs and then there is no freeze and windows completes setup fine. With windows install complete I tried inserting the other cpu and once again it gets to the black windows loading screen with the moving bar and it freezes. If anyone can help me out that would be great.

You could check to see if there is a bios update to the motherboard, the celerons at 533 is more likely newer that the p4 @ 533fsb that you have and could be a compatibility issue.
Otherwise you would have to try the 533 celeron in another board preferbly newer and see if the same thing happens.
If it does then most likely a bum celeron chip
