Question CPU throttling

Recently, I bought a Ryzen 7 5800X. However, I had kept the stock cooler from a Ryzen 5, which is only rated for 65tdp, and this one is 105tpd, and it turned on throttling and has lowered performance to keep it from overheating. Does anyone know how to put it back? I recently got a deep cool ak620, which is 250tdp and can handle the temps; thanks.

It should get back to normal automatically. If that hasn't happened after you installed the new cooler, check if there is a plastic film on the bottom of the cooler.

I think every enthusiast had done that at least once. I have, but that was, uh, 20+ years ago.
