my rig ( please see sig ) is very stable but the CPU temp read I get in bios and Sandra are way above avrage .... 56 idle and 60 load .... using the stock HSF and the thermal pad it came with .... should I try AS and stock HSF or a new, high performing HSF and AS.... or the reading I'm getting is fubar .... thanks in advance for your posts

I have pretty much the same components you have, and I used AS on mine and have never had a temp problem (a little over a year)

Yup.. Haven't kept it o/c yet, but had it prime stable for a day or two at 2Ghz. The temps were a littlle high, so I bumped it back down to stock. The stock HSF is definately not o/c friendly, but I'm sure you already knew that.

the funny thing is that I OC the CPU to 2600+ and 2700+ often and the temps rise but system stays stable ..... but I think AS is in order 🙂
