CPU Temps higher than normal

The last few weeks I've noticed that my CPU temps are hovering now around 44-45C prior to that, normal was around 35-36C.

Only changes I've made was to add a Sapphire HD4670 video card. Ironically, my GPU temps (via CCC) hover around 45-46C as well. Is this a coincidence or is my motherboard incorrectly displaying my CPU temps?

I know that at 45C it isn't going to explode but I find it strange that now my CPU is running constantly 10C hotter than it was prior to a GPU install.

Does anyone have any insight?

case is trapping the extra heat u introduced by adding the 4670.

Take side panel off and see if u can get the temps you used to get.
If you see a difference, you will need to take some time and do some cable management.

If you notice nothing is different, id say your sink must of gotten shifted, and the tim under it is no longer working as effectively as it used to, so a remount would help.

But only remount after you tested it with the side panel off.

I managed to lower temps by 15-20 degrees by simply cleaning out the dust that was layers on the heatsink. It wasn't even that much dust, but it was in all the right places I guess that something as simple as browsing firefox would raise the temps 3-4 degrees.

I'll give that a shot and report back. I thought I did a fairly good job on the cables, seeing as the Scout is pretty well setup for that, but I'll do another look over and see what happens.

If I end up having to do a remount, would that mean re-doing the thermal paste as well? I have some AS5 lying around here somewhere, but it would probably take me longer to find it than it would for newegg to send me a new batch.

I don't think that's an issue, every intake fan has a filer, actually the entire front fascia on the CM Scout is a giant filter, but it is possible that the filters are clogged (my room is pretty dusty). I'll clean them up on my next day off and report back, thank you.
