CPU temp

I'm running a Semp 3100+, getting ready to OC it in the near future. Anyway right now there is no OC and the temp looks a bit high. 35C at idle, goes up to 42-43 under load, with a Zalman 7000B attached to the mobo (no fanmate).

Now I think it might be the monitoring circuit. I keep the apartment at 75F (~24C), and at boot up I get a reading of 29C. If I were to subtract 5 deg C from all my readings I'd be where I'd expect them to be, but I scared of doing that without first understanding my problem.

How can I find out how accurate these temperature readings are?

PS I'm using everest.

Your temps sound about right. The cpu temp actually rises during boot-up, then settles back down if you're just surfing the net. Your temps are lower than my 2800.

Don't know. System/mobo temp is 40C but I got a passive cooler on it. The Aux which I think is supposed to be ambient clocks in at 66C, so whatever its reading its off.

Anyway I know the temps weren't dangerous, they just seemed a little high. But thanks, it'll give me a bit more confidence when I do decide to OC.
