First off, you have to have a mobo that has a thermistor mounted under the CPU socket in order to get a true CPU temp reading. Several new overclockable mobo's are comming out with them now. Abit KT7's have the thermsitor but the only way to monitor it is by way of the BOIS Soft Menu III app at boot-up.
I have not hear more bologna than your post in a long time. The thermistor's DO NOT in any way, shape or form give the cpu core temp. Not only is it inaccurate in most forms, but it is also horrible for comparison purposes. The only way to get true cpu temp is with a "calibrated internal-diode". There are other methods that get very close to this, but the socket-thermistor is definately not one of them.
