Is an AMD Althon 1.33G CPU temp of 53 degrees C (157 F) okay? sounds a little hot to me. this is the easy temp (no stress).
Thanks!

My system is a soyo K7ADA with 256megs DDR, and a natural 1.33ghz Althon. voltage is currently at 1.73, and seems stable. I suppose I should drop it a notch (1.70) and see what happens.

Thanks in advance,

That temperature sounds about right. My CPU runs at 55-60C on idle and there are no stability problems whatsoever. Athlons tend to run a little hotter than their Intel counterparts, but that isn't a problem because they also tolerate higher operating temperatures.

hehe. tx guys. I feel better.
btw, i just reduced the voltage 1.70, ran a DVD and locked up. so I'm back at 1.73.

is there a rule of thumb temp to use as an alarm for an athlon 1.33? right now my alarm is set for 140 F.

ROFL @Rectalfier

I have a TBird 700 with a ADDA Fan on there(extremly quiet, also pretty weak) and the degrees is on 53° Celsius under full load. As long as it's stable, I don't care.

What is this alarm thing. Actually I hear a beep noise sometimes. Just one beep. I have a MSI K7 T turbo/r motherboard. After this beep noise I always open the case cover to check the 4 led lights on the mobo and they are always green. So what is this beeping noise ???
Let me check my temp. again......I am bit paranoid now :-(

System temp. - 32 degrees C/89 degrees F

Fan 1 - 5789 RPM
Fan 2 - 2800 RPM

Titan Majesty fan. ( Is it a good fan ???)

OK do you think something is wrong ??? Seems bit hot ??? Although it hasn't crashed once.

Should be okay if it doesn't crash. Try to observe what your CPU temp is when you hear this beep. You may have settings which enable a warning at a certain temp.

Where are these settings located???
I did bit of research and it seems like that the reading on MSI K7t turbo are supposed to be way off mark. So that means the CPU is not actually running at that temp. ....I hope it's true :)
If it is not true. How can I bring the temp. down??? I already have two active coolers :-(

My Athlon 1.2GHz. runs at between 49-53C under full load. That's with a rather unremarkable HSF unit (purchased for $9 from tcwo.com) and Arctic Silver II. The case temperature is right around 30C with the power supply fan and a high-speed Sunon 80mm case fan right below it. It's not as low as some people have been reporting, but you should really only compare temperatures from people with the same motherboard you have. Thermal sensor placement and accuracy varies from board to board, so be careful when comparing temps.

My rule is: as long as it doesn't crash or put burn marks on my carpet, it's cool enough for me! ;)
