I'm using a stock AMD Heatsink/Fan Assembly for an AMD Athalon 64 3200+ (not overclocked) that shows about 46-47C die temp. This seems a little high to me. Anyone have a number for their 3200+ CPU temp? (The mobo is a Soltek K8AN2E.)
Thanks
If that is the temp at idle then it is a little higher than the norm but well within spec. If you just built the system then the temp might go down a few degrees in the next couple of days.
Second of all 46-47 is considered nice. Mine is running 38C constantly but i have AS5 SLK-947U and a Panaflo Fan. Mine is even OC with more voltage to achieve 3200+ speeds. Id say yours is MAYBE a bit hot but nothing at all to worry about.
Thanks for the info AU. The system is actually a couple of weeks old now, and the temp has remained constant since I first started recording CPU temp. I'm happy that it's stable, just thought it was high.
I have a AMD Athlon XP-2100 Palamino ( I'm running it as I write this ) and it has been running 50 to 55C for 3 and 1/2 years with no problems. That seems hot but really it's only about 122 degrees F and you could touch something that hot without burning yourself at all. As a matter of fact, you could hold your finger on something that hot for quite a while.
