CPU temp flucuations

with a constant room temp, my CPU is at 41 degrees C one day and 45 degrees C another. what can account for this? i'm kinda worried because this is IDLE with not OC. cpu is a 1700+ @ stock

what kinda cooling you got on it? any case fans? what case? rest of the computer stats? details details 😉

coolermaster case, 2 stock fans (both coolermaster, there is only room for two), SLK 800 with Smart Fan II, abit NF7-s mobo, XMS pc3200, 9700 pro, Pionner A05

maybe when its 45 its been doing something cpu intensive before, so it raised the cpu temp
and when its 41 its been doing nuthin but waste cycles lol

lately, i have put absolutely NO load on it. i wash surfing the net when i observed the 41 degrees C and i was doing the same thing when i observed the higher temps

quite the conundrum @_@

how long has the computer been on when you view the temps? 5 mins, an hour?

thats quite weird, your cpu SHOULD be quite cool with all that cooling equipment. i only have a volcano 7 and no other cooling and my cpu is 42 after gaming load..

my cpu(p4 1.6a@2.4) temp idle is 32c 🙂 full load ups to around 46c, and this is after i added just a small low rpm case fan

Before that i was idel around 37c and full load of 50c, cooling is good

no thermal, no AS3. just the generic stuff that came with slk800. the weir thing is when i first set my system up, temps were 36 degrees C. boy racer, i know abit board are inaccurate. i think i'll invest some $ in a digidoc
