CPU running slowly

I recently upgraded my mobo and CPU. The CPU is 1833mhz, but the BIOS and various benchmarking software all report it running at 1100mhz.

My hardware is as follows:

Motherboard: Gigabyte K7 Triton GA-7n400 Pro2 w/1gb RAM
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2500+ (Barton)

I've set the FSB in the BIOS to 166mhz, and the CPU still runs at 1100mhz. I've tried setting FSB using the overclocking software that came with the mobo, but after rebooting, it's right back to 1100mhz.

Any suggestions?

I believe there is a jumper some where on the mobo that sets the FSB to 100. Check the manual.

If its running at 1100mhz its likely set at 100mhz fsb (11x100=1100) whereas it should be running at 166mhz fsb (11x166=1833). Barton 2500+ cpus tend to overclock well also. You might set the vcore up slightly and change to 200mhz fsb and get 11x200=2200mhz. I did that with my Barton 2500+ and it has ran great since at 2.2ghz. You would need ram that runs well at 200mhz fsb like PC3200. Good Luck.
