CPU Requirements

Hello, I have a question about minimal requirements for games. I haven intel core 2 quad CPU, but most games have minimal requirement of intel 3 or 5. Everything else on my PC matches atleast the minimal requirements. So will I be able to run games with i3 / 5 when I have 2? Or it truely needs that i3/5.

I've already tried to play games with i3/5 needed, but it threw me error 0x00007b, but I don't know if its related with CPU, 'cos from what I have found I have appereantly some wrong folders but I don't know which, could anyone also help me with that?
Thanks a lot for your replies.

A Core 2 Quad should be alright, to be honest. Which games are you playing?

Hmm, they should be runnable on a Core 2 Quad. They might be a bit slow, but they should start.

What graphics card and what version of Windows do you have? Both of those games require DirectX 11- that might be what is wrong.

I have nvidia GTX 560 and windows 7 and I am 99% sure that I have already installed dirextX 11, but I will check it, thanks.

about the visual c++, is enough if I just download latest version? Or I need the previous ones too?

You will need the specific version that the game uses- I don't know which ones they need. But normally Steam will install this automatically the first time you start up the game.

So, today I have tried to play Ryse: son of rome and it gave me the same error as Middle earth: shadow of mordor. (translated from czech) Aplikation (0xc000007b) couldn't be started properly. Klicking on OK button, will shut down the applikation.
So, any ideas what to do with it? I have all the VC++, directX 11, netframewrok.

Maybe time for you to reinstall the OS, then reinstall the games. Ryse for example is pretty certain a framework error.
