CPU question...

Alright... i finally got my PSU working right and now i have a CPU question... alright... when i turn on the computer (without a HD in it) it says the CPU is running at 750mhz... i clearly ordered a 1ghz CPU (from newegg) and it even says so on my order form thing... is this normal? thanx

No, this is NOT normal...

post the serial number on your CPU and we can tell what speed it is... maybe they sent you the wrong CPU?

Also does your mobo supports 1Ghz CPU's?

my Mobo is a ECS K7S5A it supports up to 1.33ghz AMD and higher (last i knew... its the one with 2DDR and 2SDR) nd how do i find the serial nuber of the CPU? (yes stupid question i know)

Seems as though you are running it on a 100mhz FSB (7.5x100) instead of a 133mhz FSB. There should be an adjustment (either in the BIOS or a jumper on the motherboard) to set it to 133mhz FSB.

hmm in my maual it only has 2 jumpers... nether of witch switches the FSB...

the serial number of the CPU should be on the CPU itself... take out the CPU and have a look...

However it may be something as simple as what Wingznut PEZ said... definitely try that first as taking the CPU out may be quite tricky...

Go into BIOS... if you cannot adjust the FSB thru a jumper, you can probably do it inside the BIOS...

Look in the manual... It should say. (I just tried to download the manual from the ECS site, but since their site sucks so bad, I was unsuccessful.) :(
