I'd be interested too, at Newegg a retail Barton 3000+ is still $326, which, to me at least, is still not affordable :-\ I would think in May though, after the 400FBS Bartons are out the prices would drop a bit more significantly.

I like to jump on the cpus when they hit 150-200 bucks...To me that is affordable....IN both camps often the cpu at double the price is nowhere near as twice as fast...The sweet spot for amd and Intel are in the much lower range...The rest is just wasteful spending since future chips in the near future will drive them down more shortly...

Wise spending now means more upgrades and sooner....I like to get the cpu that isn't nearly the fastest but I am happy when I can oc it higher then the fastest available chip on the market...I have done that for quite awhile in the last year or so....

I sold my 1.6a back in the forums about 1-1/2 months ago for 90 shipped and it does 1100mhz oc!!!!!

This one cost me 150 and I get 750mhz at default vcore and closer to 900mhz with 1.7v of vcore.....

Yeah, I can't see spending $250+ on a CPU that will be worth 1/2 that in 2 weeks...

I prefer my XP1700+b that is hitting 2.25ghz air cooled for a mere $59...Mwahahahaha ;)
