CPU Performance tester

Does anyone know of a good CPU performance test program to see if my CPU is erforming at its best? Thanks for the help.

You can use the free Sandra utility that has a few benchmarks.

The problem is that, such a benchmark is only valid for comparing identical machines. Just because two machines have identical CPUs does not mean that you will get identical benchamrk results from them. Almost all such benchmarks are sensitive to more than one component, in this case, the CPU as well as the memory.

Fair warning: if you are stuck with Dial-Up for the Internet, allocate 2-3 Hours or more to d/l Aquamark! It's monstersize -huge!

get 3dmark 01, and run at 640X480. Any changes you do to the cpu will change the score acordingly.
