I'm fixing an older system for somebody. It's a Slot-A Athlon on a Asus k7v (I think) MB.

when I turn it on, it beeps, the beep is very low, and sounds a lot like an alarm clock. I went to Asus's web site and downloaded the PDF manual for it. It lists beeps and error codes. But the closest is "a high pitched beep" which I don't think it really is. this one is vert soft, and constant. I am assuming it's because the CPU is overheating, any ideas tho?

1 Long Beep with Award Bios usually means a Memory problem.

If there is more than one module installed, you might want to
check them by installing them individually.

it's not a long beep, it sounds like an alarm clock "beep oppp beeep oppp" I can't describe it beyond that. It's definitly nothing like the standard "BEEP BEEP" when your video card isn't seated properly.
