I overclocked my X2 4400 to 2.5 GHz with a 250x10. Memory set at DDR333. When I play quicktime videos the video has a purple tint. When I play counter-strike source, the gun models are sometimes glowing white and everything is much lighter than usual even with the darkness set at the highest. WHen I lower the overclock to 2.42, 11x220, the problems go away. The video card is not overclocked yet. I ran dual instances of Prime for 9 hours without any errors. After 9 hours of prime CPU was around 56C. System in rig.

Sounds related to ocing at least....

However list rest of specs....It is possible with some chipset when you oc the pci-e clock gets out of whack or needs adjustment....

Did you try 11x228??? Maybe the 250 HTT is the issue...What HTT mult are you using??? try 3 if you have left it at 4 with he 250 test...

I think HTT 5x?
I'll try 11x228 later and post the results. I thought it was better to lower the multiplier. So that was the first thing I did. Complete system is in sig at bottom. Here are the major parts...

Asus-Sli-Prem
2x1GB GSkill Ram
AMD X2 4400+ with arctic freezer 640 pro
EVGA 7800GT CO with NV SIlencer Rev 3
Antec 550W PSU

I would be surprised if it would even boot at 5x with 250....Check that!!! I have heard of ppl bale to get in the 1100s so a 5x222 would be possible....

The Asus mobo is tops so that should rule out the idea of no pci-e lock....Check the asus forums and see if when you use a 250 HTT if you need to bump pci clock a few notches 101-108 range...

If you're really at an HTT multi of 5x, that would explain it. I've tried going past 1000HTT before, and when I go too far, my video starts to go out of whack. Double check your HTT multi settings, make sure you don't go over 1000.

The 5x250 is the HTT link at the speed in which the pcu talks to other devices...hece why it shows up in gaming and video stuff but will not likley show up in prime95 which is just a cpu stress tester...

I still woul be quite surprise if it was at 5 with 250...Most mobos I saw would not boot if that was much over 1000...perhaps the newer NF4 boards are better...
