cpu over voltage error please help

had a arctic cooling tower with a ss-350 psu fans, stopped working so and cpu fan getting to noisy so i changed to arctic cooling t1 tower with 550psu and a zalman cnps9500a with fanmate2, the 550 psu has 20+4 pin and 12v connector for cpu, the old 350 just had the 20+4(had no problem booting up) connected the two set of pins computer powers up and i have to hit del to get to system set up 1 in every 20 goes might get to bios or it just freezersand i have to reboot if i do get in it comes up cpu voltage over load f1 f2 etc if i disconnect the 4 pin the computer just reboots and wont shut down(could u cut the 4 wire off the 20+4 connector) so pissed off now been at it for a week on and off any advice would be great thanks

Have you tried to reset the BIOS to optimized default?

Also, perhaps more info on your hardware, such as motherboard?

Try unplugging your computer than removing the batter on the motherboard so the CMOS can reset. You'll want to leave it unplugged for at least 10min in my opinion.

running asus p5ad2-e premium mobo with 4x1gb,geforce 7600 250mb graphic card 250gb and 1tb westen digital hdd and to dvd drives. connected the fan while plug in and shorted the pwr fan 1. cpu voltage error display had cmos setting error that gone, over clocking failed as well try to switch it off not sure if i did what a mess

1.) Are you overclocked?

2.) If you can get into the BIOS again, have you tried resetting BIOS to default settings?

3.) If you can't get into the BIOS anymore, you need to remove the battery to reset the setttings back to default. See LoneNinja's post above.

reset cmos now saying new cpu installed press f1 f2 etc could the mobo be fuck after shorting out the pwr fan 1, what about the cmos battery would it need replacing

hi there computer going to bios reset defaults etc rebooted pressed f8 to jump straight to boot select the computer not reading hard drive asking for boot device or insert boot media changed cables unplugged everything, could the hard drive be corrupt

now its seem not to read the hard drive, insert bootable media etc and it can't read the dvd rom drive when disc is put in could the cable be faulty? will try different cable tomorrow or is the cpu fucked :twisted::(
