Have you tried to reset the BIOS to optimized default?

Also, perhaps more info on your hardware, such as motherboard?

Try unplugging your computer than removing the batter on the motherboard so the CMOS can reset. You'll want to leave it unplugged for at least 10min in my opinion.

running asus p5ad2-e premium mobo with 4x1gb,geforce 7600 250mb graphic card 250gb and 1tb westen digital hdd and to dvd drives. connected the fan while plug in and shorted the pwr fan 1. cpu voltage error display had cmos setting error that gone, over clocking failed as well try to switch it off not sure if i did what a mess

1.) Are you overclocked?

2.) If you can get into the BIOS again, have you tried resetting BIOS to default settings?

3.) If you can't get into the BIOS anymore, you need to remove the battery to reset the setttings back to default. See LoneNinja's post above.

reset cmos now saying new cpu installed press f1 f2 etc could the mobo be fuck after shorting out the pwr fan 1, what about the cmos battery would it need replacing
