CPU or Mobo broken?

Hi

My problem is as following:

  • - Can't see anything on the screen (no signal message only). Tested this on three different monitors
    - Hard drives deattached, nothing. The hard drives work fine though, tested them on another system
    - The processor fan and mobo fan are working just fine
    - I have tried changing memory slots
    - I also tried another PSU
    - There's no error beeping at all when I start up the system
    - Tried restarting the CMOS, no luck

The problem occured after playing a game. I left the game on for about 2 hours and when I came back, the game had frozen and nothing helped so I had to reboot. Since that day the system has been dead.

So which one is dead: the CPU or mobo?

Sys specs:
mobo: ASROCK K7S41GX
mem: 2 x 512Mb Kingston DDR
graphics card: ASUS 9250 128Mb

Have you tried the videocard in any other machine? I would. Though, it doesn't make much sense that there aren't any abnormal POST beeps.

No, but I tried another video card on my system and the result was the same: "no signal" and still no beeps

I had similar symptoms, no video, no post beeps, only fans worked on a different board. Turns out I am a victom of the bulging/leaking capacitor issue. How do your caps look?
