CPU or MEMORY

I'm thinking spending 100 dollars to "upgrade" my system's performance.
I am running an Athlon XP 1800 266 FSB w/512 MB system memory on an ASUS A7N8x.
For about the same price I can upgrade the CPU to 2500+ (512cache) 333 FSB or go for
another 512MB of system memory.
Any experience out there???

nforce 2 board right? do you have one stick of 512 in it? if so, 2x256 would take advantage of the dual channel memory on that thing
anyway, id take the barton before the ram in your case

Barton.

More RAM doesn't make as much difference as adding a new cpu (why don't you get the 2600 TBred B? they're about the same price, and the 2600 beats the 2500 from what i heard)

Me too!
Barton.
Mixing RAM is a bad idea for trying dual channel, and 512 should be enough for awhile yet.
