is it possible to OC the CPU, motherboard and memory altogether? if so, which order should i OC them in if my main OC target is my CPU?

It depends. For the Athlon 64, the CPU GHz is king. Zebo has shown that overclocking the memory helps a little, but not much.

i already know that more mhz for CPU turns out better performance than increased mhz for memory. however, my questions still remain unanswered : /

O.K. then. Since you know CPU is king, memory is last, that puts motherboard in the middle. :) To give you an example, for my system...

2.3GHz, 8x multiplier, 290 FSB/HTT speed, 1.55V for CPU, 2.6V for memory.
2.4GHz, 8x multiplier, 300 FSB/HTT speed, 1.55V for CPU, 2.9V for memory.
2.5GHz, 8x multiplier, 313 FSB/HTT speed, 1.55V for CPU, 2.9V for memory.
2.6GHz, 8x multiplier, 325 FSB/HTT speed, 1.55V for CPU, 2.9V for memory.
2.7GHz, 8x multiplier, 338 FSB/HTT speed, 1.55V for CPU, 2.9V for memory.

In this case, the CPU is o/c from 1.8 to 2.7 GHz, the motherboard is o/c from 200 FSB/HTT to 338 FSB/HTT, and my memory is actually downclocked at the moment (from 400 down to 338). I am still looking for the max CPU speed.

Here is a link to Zebo's Athlon64 overclocking guide.

Unless you have unlocked multipliers, whenever you overclock the cpu you overclock the motherboard. The memory will be overclocked as long as you dont change the memory divider/ratio.

thanks. but this is assuming that i have an DFI nF4 Ultra-D or an Epox 9NPA+Ultra, a good CPU hsf and a quality PSU right? i know that not all 3000+ Venice get to 2.7GHz, but with the build i just mentioned... 2.7GHz is almost all but certain
