CPU & memory ID utility

Is there a free utility out there that can identify the type of memory and cpu.
Mostly I need to know the dimm style (sdram or ddr) and cpu socket.

I am trying to do a low budget upgrade on a server for the POS at small retail store, and want to know what I have to work with without pulling the box apart.
