CPU/Memory Frequency Ratio

Example. I have a 1.6ghz processor @ 400FSB. The multiplier is 16. So setting the bus FSB @ 100/33 gives me 1600ghz. Makes sense.

My memory is PC2700(166mhz). What should the ratio be set at and could you explain what logic you use to get to that figure?

What I'm trying to understand is when we are talking about 5:4 and 3:2, what is the divider?
 
First off, welcome aboard, second......relax:beer: Patience is always a good thing on these forums.

The answer to your question is a little comples. You give no information about your setup, and demand a rapid answer. The best I can do is that you should set the CPU/RAM ratio at a level that does not unduly stress your PC2700 RAM. That being said, and not knowing what RAM you have, I would start at 6:5 if that ratio is available to you. That way if you want to run at 200 Mhz FSB for the CPU, your RAM is at +/- 166 Mhz FSB (PC2700 speed).
