Cpu may be bad...Is it safe to test in a motherboard?

Hi,
Is it safe to test a cpu that you suspect
may be bad or fried in a motherboard without damaging the motherboard??
Would you do it in a fairly new board??

Sure! Why not?! I tested a bad celeron on my BX133-RAID and it did't fry my mobo.

logically it doesnt sound like it wouldnt be safe...so go for it..
