I'd need to vote twice - my main system (gaming and Internet) uses and AMD Tbred 2100@2400 and an ATi Radeon 9700; my secondary system (video recording/editing) uses an AMD XP1500@1700 and an nVidia Geforce2 Ti450.

Looks like we need a little more Nvidia input:

XP2100/Geforce 4 Ti 4200
XP1700/ Geforce 3 ti200
XP1700/Geforce 3
Duron 850/Geforce 2 Pro

That would be 4 AMD and 4 Nvidia.

P4 1800A
GF3 Ti200

Well balanced, although an AthlonXP 1800+ would have been cheaper and better performance when I bought it a year ago.

LOL! :D It seems Intel users prefer ATI, and AMD users prefer nVidia. At least according to our tiny sample. :p

My vote went for my wife's machine which is Intel + "other" (Matrox G400!)

If I could vote again, it'll be for my AMD shuttle system... but I'm not sure if ATI or nVidia will get the privelege of taking the vaunted AGP slot. :D Depends what kind of sale I catch! :D

AMD XP2700/ ATI 9700pro,AMD XP2400 / ATI 8500 128, AMD XP2400 / ATI 9100, AMD XP2100 / ATI8500, AMD XP1700 / Matrox G450, AMD XP1800 / ATI 2000, AMD XP2000 / TNT vanta2

Sig is missing one of these, as I just built it for a lan party for my son (My lan, only one person brought their computer), and I may sell it.

My brother in law has a P3 450 at 450. His video card is a GF2 GTS 32 MB. (Elsa Gladiac I believe) I should try putting a 9700 Pro in there and see how it does. One thing is for sure, the FPS probably wouldn't budge going from 800x600 to 1600x1200 6X FSAA, Ansio, etc. :)

I did play UT 2003 on a 1800+ with GF2 32MB and it was chippy as hell compared to my 9700 pro. Video cards make the world of a difference if you're playing the newest titles. 3DMark 03 seems to show this trend nicely.

-DAK-

p.s. BTW I use a 3.06HT and 9800 pro for play and 2600+ MP x 2 with Quadro4 900 XGL for work. Nothing o/c in either.

I received it for building a new system for a person. Right now I don't know what I'm going to use it for. Maybe a paper weight or maybe to hold up the desk my AMD systems are on. ;) hehehehe

Mine choices depend on sales, also.

I'd like to hazard a "guess" . . . that the Intel/ATI users have (generally) ALREADY upgraded while the AMD/nVidia users are "holding out" for next gen.

Quite true, at least, on the Nvidia part. Though I have no intentions of moving from AMD to Intel at the moment, it is only because I can't afford Intel. Though, if I had the money, there would be a good chance I'd switch over. As my last Intel system was a Celeron 300a @ 450.

I'm still using my Ti200, I'll wait till NV35 comes out, see how it performs, and then make my judgement on which companies card to buy based upon performance. Though if I had to purchase now, ATi would be my choice.

Anyway, I am using AMD/Nvidia.

intel : AMD
49 : 67

ATI : Nvidia : other video card
60 : 51 : 6

even with this small sample almost twice as many intel system have ATI video cards as opposed to nvidia video cards

with AMD based systems things are much more even. :)

this may appear to be true if we assume that all the ATI cards are 9500, 9500pro, 9700 and 9700 pro etc. but would be curious to see how many are older 8500,7500 etc.

AS nvidia has held the 3d gaming card crown for a while we see a greater distribution in cards listed in this message, esp. where people have more than one system listed there is an abundance of older nvidia cards such as geforce 2 and geforce 3 cards etc.
