Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe

Soundstorm

1gig Corsair Value Select DDR400 in Dual Channel (OCed to CAS 2.5)

5900XT w/VIVO Oced 450x800

I am thinking of upgrading to a 6800NU as the prices are right. Will i be CPU limited. (IE should i sell my Proc and M/B first?)

you should be minor cpu limited, however, i suggest buying the 6800nu since it's a good deal. then upgrade when you save some more money.

Well if you were to upgrade I would go with the NForce 4 boards. Then you are looking at new board, chip and PCI-e video card. I would say the 6800nu is a good upgrade for your current system. Pretty much now all the current CPU's bottleneck the highend graphics cards.

being cpu limited is 100% dependant on the game itself. games like UT2004 and HL2 are particularly demanding on CPUs. you would be limited but not hugely, maybe loose about 15% of performance over a top end AMD 64 rig, roughly?

I'd say you would not be cpu limited for most games with a 6800 with a 2ghz Barton. With a 6800 Ultra or similar, then its qestionable. Either way, a 6800 or higher will definitely look and feel better in games than a 5900xt no matter the cpu...especially if you crank up the AA, AF, and rez.
