my guess is ceramic.

It's ceramic, and a BITCH to drill. I broke 3 dead CPUs before I gave up and used a dead 6800's chip for my keychain.

Edit: pardon my crappy cellphone pic. Seem to have misplaced my digicam.

Out of all the processor keychains I've seen, the better ones have the entire chip cast in resin and a hole put in the resin.... that way everything can stay intact. And you don't cut your hand or anything when you reach in to your pocket.
