CPU Identity

my friend bought 3 cpu's from EBay..
here's what is written on them
Intel: 2.8/512/400 SL7EY

AMD: ADA3400AEP5AP (CAAOC)
AMD: ADA3300EP3AX (LBAZC)

Can anyone tell me that are the specs for these?

I think the Intel is a 2.8GHz Northwood (400FSB, no HyperThreading) and the AMDs look like a Socket 754 Newcastle 3400+ (2.4GHz, 512Kb L2) and a Socket 754 3300+ (2.4GHz, 256Kb L2) pulled from an HP.

Why would your friend buy 3 cpus if he didnt knew what they were?

@ mde: the 2.8 northwood should have HT if it's a C chip and not a B chip.

@brazzmunk: your friend needs to install the cpu into a mobo and run a program like cpu-z to determine the cache size and other specs of the processor.

or you can go to the intel webpage and type in the spec finder to see what it spits out at you... as for the amd processors, i dunno if amd has a spec finder on their webpage

None of the 400FSB chips had HT

hehehe.. i always think 1/2 of what intel does so for me 400 = 800 = HT

so that would make it an A chip right? not B or C?

i thought the highest A chip was the 2.4

There were some special order 2.6/400 chips, and I guess maybe some 2.8 ones as well. I think the 2.6 chips were rare, and I hadn't heard of 2.8s, but maybe they existed.

How is 3300 pulled from HP?, i actually looked arround and found nothing on 3300

Definately a pull, the 3300+ is a freak chip.
