CPU & FSB question

Assuming one has a 533mhz 3.06 on an 865 or 875 chipset motherboard, performance-wise will a 3.0C perform better?
Also, i've been seeing alot of the 3.06's selling for around $250, but haven't bit because of the possibility of a 2.4c being able to hit that. I just really don't know what will be better.

I have a 2.4C at 3.0 ok even using the retail fan/sink.
I had read good things about them so i saved my money and it has worked out ace for me.
They even go more than 3.0 though, it is unreal. But i wanted my pc stable and made sure of this using stuff like Prime95 for 17 hours, etc, etc.

While the C will perform better in every aspect like Jeff said, it's not going to be dramatic..

If the extra $85-100 dollars isn't worth it for you, get a 2.4C and overclock.

And either save the $100 or go for faster ram or another GPU.

exactly, the price difference doesn't justify the performance jump from a 3.06 to a 3.0C. by OCing a 2.4C to 3GHz, you essentially have a 3.0C, b/c the 2.4C has hyperthreading like the 3.0C. in fact your performance will be better w/ an OCed 2.4C. since the P4C's use the 800mhz fsb and have locked multipliers, the only way to OC is by raising the fsb. so a 2.4C @3ghz will have a higher fsb than a 3.0C @ 3ghz. less $$$, more performance...best of both worlds.
