CPU frequency??

I have a AMD 1000 thunderbird pc, whith 256 mb pc133 ram, and a asus A7V motherboard. When i go to the motherboard setup (press del on upstart) i can see that the CPU frequency is set to 100 mhz,( i can choose between 90 and up to 130) and the DRAM frequency is set to 100 mhz ( i can chosse between 100 or 133)? is that korrekt?

Set the mem frequency to 133 MHz since you have PC-133 mem, otherwise youll lose some performance for no reason.

The cpu frequency is the front side bus speed and it along with the clock muliplier, yours is 10, sets the speed for the cpu. In your case a 100mhz front side bus and a 10 multiplier(100*10) gets you 1000mhz cpu. The dram frequency thing tell the motherboard what speed to run the memory at 100mhz or 133mhz and since you have pc-133 memory it should be set at 133mhz. It will run fine at 100mhz but your computer will be faster with it set to 133mhz.

Ill let somebody else cover overclocking and cas setting. I am to tired and can bearly think straight 🙂.

Just to sum up: you mean that i leave the CPU frequency a 100 and then change the DRAM frequency to 133 mhz? Is that korrekt?
